Long Lost Blog....

I haven't blogged in a while, probably because I have hardly had time to stop and breathe!! I know I shouldn't complain because all of the things that are happening are so EXCITING!! I moved out of my apartment and into Scott's sweet sisters house. I will be living with Amanda, Mark and my two favorite red heads until the wedding in November!! Our house is coming along beautifully, the bathroom is finished and the kitchen is well on it's way! I will post pictures soon.

In other news the wedding is only 4 months away...AHHHH YAY SO EXCITING!!! To prepare I've started to go to a personal trainer. It's my wedding day I want to look like I have at least one muscle. The down side is that every Tuesday and Thursday I can't lift my arms or squat down. NO BIG DEAL I only need a certain range of motion anyways, right?? My trainer, Jenny, also informed me that if I didn't start eating better I would run until I threw it up. I guess she doesn't realize that I don't run unless something is chasing me.

I'll be better about posting. And posting with cute pics, there is SO SO much to catch up on!!

Sav is moving to Alaska...

On May 3rd, I get a text from one of my best friends that she is officially moving to Alaska?! WHAAAAAT?? was my immediate thought. But,my first response was are you serious? We joke a lot, and we are hardly every serious...but this time she was dead serious. Her husband is in the army and that's where they are sending him. I.Do.Not.Like.This.

My first instinct was to go to Google Maps and see exactly how far this was going to be. I had to make the map smaller to even see Alaska! First sign that it's too far. Then I pushed in the flight information on Orbitz. 8 hours of flying time? 15 hours of travel time? Second sign that it's too far. Once again, I.Do.Not.Like.This.

But I'm a fairly positive person and I'm going to be fairly positive about this situation for her benefit. I'm excited for her, not many people get to move to Alaska and see all of the amazing scenery and animals that it has to offer. I'm particularly jealous about the animals, if you know me you know I love animals. Hopefully by the time I save up for the flight to come see her she will be still live there! The way that she is handling this is incredible. She is one of the toughest girls I know. I admire her for that. I would be a MESS right now but she has got it together. She doesn't leave until August so I plan to stalk her every time she comes to Dallas between now and then.

Sav I think you will look hot in a parka and snow boots, but I will miss you!!

Big Trucks and Big Trees

So I went to Lufkin this weekend. Going home is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Despite all the mean things people say about Lufkin....I LOVE this town. Do I want to move back there? No. But do I miss it. Yes. When you reach the trees on the highway I know I'm almost home, and it's always a good feeling. (Except in the fall when there are deer running from every direction, and then I am just terrified.)

Most of the time when I go home I am completely anti-social. I sit at the house with my parents and occasionally venture out to see my grandparents and cousins. However, this trip was for my friend Erica's wedding. So many of my high school friends were in town and it was so great to catch up. It was also fun to watch the people who still vicariously live through high school...always adds a little drama. The best was seeing Hall and Becca and getting to be the third wheel just like old times.
Side note: Erica was a GORGEOUS bride.

I also got to spend some time with my favorite Mimi and the Vansaus. So I got to see this little cutie.

I love this little girl more than words can describe. She and her mom are almost enough to make we want to move back to Lufkin, buuuut I'm not sure Scott would go for that.

P.S. The remodelers are coming today!!

BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING PEOPLE!!

First Blog Ever!!

This is such an exciting time in our lives. We have so much going on, and all of it is exciting and fun! Between planning the wedding, remodeling the house and Scott finishing school, we stay pretty busy!! Hopefully this blog will be a way to keep everyone informed and up to date!!

So let's begin with the wedding. It's nuts!! I never knew how many details were actually involved. And I never knew that most of those details, I could care less about. The big things, I care. The little things, I just wish someone would choose for me. But none of that matters. All that matters is that in 193 days I will get to marry my best friend, and that is worth all of this craziness. I have to admit that some of the planning is fun and getting to talk to my mom everyday, even just about the wedding, is great. We have all of the big things nailed down and so now we are taking on the nitty gritty. November 6th cannot get here fast enough.

The house, well Scott's house, is a mess right now! He is living in a construction site. There is only one working bathroom and the kitchen is completely ripped up. No cabinet doors or counter tops. The remodelers come on Monday!!!!! We will finally have a beautiful kitchen and guest bathroom. The bathroom used to be GREEN, dark Baylor green!! Oh, and it had carpet, also dark green. The kitchen countertops and backsplash were mustard yellow, enough said. I cannot wait for it to be finished!! This project would not be happening if it weren't for Scott's parents. They have been INCREDIBLE!! His sweet dad spends more time at the house than I do and he's always working!! I will post before and after pics later. You will be amazed!

As for the rest of our time we are working or doing homework. And when I saw "we" I mean "we" are doing homework. Scott is a pretty good persuader and somehow I end up doing some of the homework. I keep asking myself, which one of us is going to school again?! Oh well, he is 30 hours away from finishing and we are counting down!
